One Of a Kind – Limoges Porcelain Plate ~ Hand Painted with Yellow White Roses ~D & Co France 1879 – 1900

''Stunning'' is all that comes to mind as your eyes are treated to this gorgeous plate. Proudly painted by the factory artist, you see the roses come to life with each brush stroke. The artist has painted his(her) masterpiece on this unique Limoges mold that has a slightly scalloped edge. On the rim of the plate are raised gold accented dots that follow the curvature of the scallops. A very nice added touch to this plate! Between the raised dots and the outer rim the background is painted a very light aquamarine color. Extending from the golden dots on one side he has painted a magnificent rendition of white roses with just a slight hint of yellow and a deeper yellow center. He has started the roses on one side on an amber background with deep forest green leaves and then gradually blends the leaves and background into an awesome violet color around violet shadowy leaves. The remainder of the back ground is a soft butter yellow with accents the yellow white roses. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing and would look beautiful anywhere in your home.
