This is a beautiful and functional Sommelier's wine tasting cup, or "Tastevin" in French, delicately hand crafted in Sterling silver, hallmarked. Its ring (hallmarked too) in the shape of two side by side snakes, holds your trigger finger, its rounded side and coin inside revealing the wine's true colour and clarity. Centre of cup is a genuine Napoleon III French sterling coin, dating from 1852, (some traces of wear). The wine stuff was used for examining and tasting wine. Shapes varied from one region of France to another, this one being an example of the kind used in the centre of France....
Dimension: is 4" x 3", weight is near 85g.
Condition: is good. I notice some light stripes and wear, little distortions visible on our pictures and not serious.
It is a French hallmarked sterling work, dating from circa 1860's, hallmarked with French Minerva Head. The Maker's diamond hallmark: J.P with an anchor between the initials.
It is a prestigious French wine stuff that we guarantee.
