A handsome porcelain military figure produced in Germany and made by the Frankenthal factory, which was founded by Friedrich Wilhelm Wessel in 1849, and was known for producing fine porcelain figures.

This figures depicts a 1792 French Grenadier in full military dress uniform. Historically, the Grendadiers were chosen for their large size and strength. He is smoking his pipe and leaning on his musket, with his sword at his side. The figure is hand painted in fine detail and in excellent condition; size 10 ½” H x 3 ¼” W.
