You are looking at a circa 1850 signed C.T. Carl Tielsch Silesia, Altwasser German Bavarian Porcelain Plate This beautiful vegetable serving dish can also serve as a Fruit Bowl, a cabinet plate, or you can just use it as a table centerpiece.

This elegant contoured bowl is highlighted with bright gold on all embossed areas. There are transfers of baby roses in a garland around the lower part of the rim and in the center are soft pink roses with pale green leaves. The transfers have and added touch of beautifully hand painted white highlights.

The base is marked with a green circle that reads "Made In Germany" and the green Eagle mark with the letters C. T. beneath.

The following paragraph about the eagle mark is taken from porcelain marks and more. "The first eagle mark was similar to the mark used by the 'Porzellanmanufaktur F.A. Schumann', a firm located in Berlin-Moabit since 1836. Tielsch was very fond of their products and copied their style for some time. But the 'eagle' also caused problems. The director of the KPM facility sent a complaint to the ministry of finance, which resulted in an idea from Tielsch to change the mark again in 1850. He chose a dove with a twig in its beak seeming to 'crash dive'. Of course, it could still be mistaken for the 'KPM eagle', but for the ministers it was different enough to please them and further complaints from KPM Berlin were turned down".

Based on the above information, the eagle mark with C. T. beneath it was only used 1847-1850.

It measures 12-1/2" long and 10-3/4" wide.

There are no cracks, chips, utensil marks, or repairs
