SOLD 6 Roxbury Pattern Grill Plates 1942 Mint! Used On Railroad Diner Cars

Price is for all six grill plates. It is unusual to find a set of these! They were manufactured by Syracuse China and are Econo Rim plates in the "Roxbury" pattern. It features transfer print decoration of Red /Pink sunflowers with smaller blooms & a thin red line around the rim. The scalloped raised edge on the rim denotes the Econo Rim line that was invented by Syracuse China specifically for use on railroad diner cars. This is vitrified china which is heavy and made for commercial uses, also known as restaurant ware & diner ware. These divided plates are in fantastic condition but date to 1942. There is not any noticeable utensil wear. They are 9 1/2" diameter and were used by the Kansas City Southern Railroad between 1936-1945. The back marking states "Syracuse China Econo Rim W8 Trade Mark Patented". Children especially love these type of plates because they're able to separate their food.
