Parian bonnet head doll with shoulder head made by the Hertwig Porcelain Factory, Germany, circa 1890s, 9-1/2" tall.

Parian head has a molded and painted blue cap on her curly blonde hair. Lovely facial painting or the highest quality indicating earlier production of the factory.

Original cloth body with parian lower limbs and very fancy decorated boots with double rows of buttons and flowers on the vamps.

Doll is dressed in a blue cotton print dress with applied tatted laces on the bodice.

Condition: The should head has been broken off at the neck and someone has used cloth to reinforce the break and then stitched the dress on over it. When the doll is completely dressed, it is completely invisible, but slight movement at the neck, caused us to investigate more closely. We have shown detailed photos.

The doll displays beautifully as you can see from our photos, but we have priced the doll without regard to the head.

Our listing price represents the value of the body and clothes only, we have not considered the head in the price.

Perhaps a collector will want to display the doll as shown, dressed, or perhaps they would like to have the body and clothing and replace the head. In either case, a bargain is to be had in this little doll.
