PAIR of lithograph prints from 1985, both pencil signed by the artist and both numbered 67/199, one possibly titled "Femme et Oiseau" (woman and bird), measuring " by " (" by " as framed). These are colorful affordable works by a major artist, major pieces by him having approached $200,000 at major auctions of works by the CoBrA movement masters. Corneille was born as Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo in Liege, Belgium. In Amsterdam before age 20, he was exposed to works by Matisse and Picasso, and later found himself attracted to Klee and Miro's works. By 1948 he had founded the CoBrA movement with Karel Appel and Constant. Today his colorful, whimsical works are very in demand by collectors and prices are in the tens of thousands for oils. These prints are clean and ready for the wall. Shipping wizard figures are guesstimates. Allow for reflections in glass. SEE HUNDREDS OF OTHER WORKS OF ART NOW IN MY SHOP.
