Zeugma - an ancient city founded on the banks of the Euphrates river in 300 BC, it was later an important military point for the Romans. Home to the Legio Scythica, one of the few legions based on the eastern frontier, Zeugma was also an important stop on the Silk Route...a link, as it were (and hence the Greek name), between East and West. This necklace evokes that ancient crossroads in element and form. A strand of faceted black onyx rondelles lead down to a stunning 26 carat lemon quartz gemstone. This faceted teardrop, which measures just over 1" in length and .75" across its widest point, is beautifully clear and a gorgeous warm golden hue. The stone is cupped by antiqued 22 karat gold over sterling silver vermeil granulated caps, which are in turn echoed by the vermeil hook clasp with which the necklace finishes.

The necklace, designed to sit in the hollow of the throat, is 16" in length and ships in a gift box.
