Magnificent long and delicate vintage Lily flower design brooch and clip earrings, set with incredible genuine Hinge Pearl navettes. Hinge pearls are formed when the inner surface of the mollusk shell is scraped near the 'hinge', the resulting pearl shape always having two pointed ends. The lustrous 'flowers' are polished, then hand set with open backs on slender stems. The leaves are filigreed and layered, with each piece having a brilliant Aurora Borealis chaton for accent. The finish is lavish Rhodium goldplate, and is flawless. The brooch measures 3" long, the matching earrings are climbers, 1 3/4". Both earrings are signed 'Pat. Pend.', dating the set to 1957 or earlier (no copyright). Long invisibly mounted pinset with locking C-clasp works perfectly~no finish loss to the stick. The set is in Near Mint condition, a true 'find' for the lover of all things Pearl.
