REDUCED Bossons - "Cavalier" - Very Rare Early Wall Sculpture, Large - England, c 1962

"Cavalier" means "horseman" and was used in England in the 1640s for the gaily dressed troops devoted to Charles I, as opposed to the "Roundheads" the name given to a follower of the Parliamentary cause during the English Civil War. This wonderful fellow was first released in 1960. and was discontinued in 1963. This particular piece was made either 1962 or 1963. (Dating Bossons is fairly easy, as the back of the piece was changed several times.) This is in Excellent Condition. He is a large piece, 8 inches tall. Cavalier is pictured and referenced in the Imagical World of Bossons by Robert E. Davis on Pages 46, 52, 53, and 117.
