Original Highwayman oil painting by listed artist Samuel Newton. In 2004, along with the 25 other fellow Highwaymen artists, Sam was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. Sam Newton is one of the original highwaymen artists that began painting astonishing Florida scenes in the 1950's. Sam is one of the twenty-six named Highwaymen artists identified by author Gary Monroe in his 2001 book entitled, "The Florida Highwaymen" This is simply and stunningly beautiful. It is oil on Masonite. in an original whitewash frame with gold accent. Signed Lower Left. The painting measures 20" x 16"; framed 24" x 20". It is in Excellent Condition.
