This striking dark brown very large aesthetic platter measures 18 3/8 " long x 14 3/4 " wide and is transfer printed in luscious dark brown.
The piece is decorated with the desirable BEATRICE pattern. It is an abundantly rich Aesthetic design with a Japanesque influence, combining the Victorian love of nature and the exotic. The rich dark border enhances the full impact of this wonderful aesthetic scene.
It was made by the Wedgwood factory in the Staffordshire district of England. The registration mark on the back dates it to 1880.
Condition is EXCELLENT, very clean shiny and bright. No chips, no cracks, no utensil marks, no hairlines and no repairs. A beautiful platter, the contrast and composition is especially beautiful in this rich brown color.
