A beautifully hand-crafted, cabinet-sized piece of ABC in a very desirable design by one of our leading early American Brilliant cut glass cutting houses. There is cross hatching or cain located along the outer most crest on this decanter base. as well as 8 pointed stars, some decorated with caining in a pattern. These are separated with zipper cuts from the top to the bottom of this vessel. A fine example of American turn of the century cut- glass that can grace your table, china cabinet, or bar with elegance.
This is Estate crystal and I do not believe that the stopper is the original. The crystal stopper may not be original to the decanter, but its fit is excellent, and may be an alternate stopper for the pattern and flows with the decanters design nicely.
This lovely decanter stands an impressive 12 inches tall to the top of the fiery crystal stem.
In the close up picture of the design on this, I had just washed and rinsed the bottle. Those spots are NOT air bubbles; they are water drops on the interior of the bottle.
Weighs 3.06 lbs.
This piece is in fine condition. There are no chips, flakes or cracks. The blown blank is heavy and clear.
The old piece has the soft, silky feel of truly old, wheel-polished glass. The wood wheel polish certainly makes this piece a delight to hold and to behold. It has been well taken care of through the years.
